Resilient Designer Program

Our design and creative community has been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Designers have lost clients, had projects either stop or pause without notice and have had the creative departments they work in either be reduced or completely cut from the budget.

The Resilient Designer Program is a grant-funded program through the City of Sacramento that is available to all impacted designers based in the city of Sacramento. Because of the grant restrictions, all participants must either live or work within the city limits. The program will last until March, 2021.

Our program participants will be able to:

  • Create a profile in our directory that will be accessible to the public

  • Find potential clients and employment through our Job Board that is available to all participants

  • Access three online Design & Business courses that will be available for free through their membership

Sign up for the program using this form and you will be able to create a profile on the website. The sign up form is also available for anyone interested in sponsoring the program, as we hope to continue offering programming after the grant is fulfilled.

Our goal is to be able to help at least 50 designers with finding clients, getting a job and learning new skills to help them with their business goals. We want to improve our design workforce, and to ensure that the opportunities are equitable for everyone.

What happens next

We are working on our Resilient Designer Program website and will have that available by the end of December. We also hope to continue offer this programming and more, as we know that the effects of COVID-19 will remain after our grant is fulfilled. If you would like to get involved, please contact our Founding Director, Amanda Sanchez.

Thank you!
